Volvo Offers 1 Year of Free Home Charging to Electric Vehicle Owners

Volvo is offering free home charging for one year to electric vehicle (EV) owners as part of a campaign launched in Sweden.
Volvo has launched a notable campaign to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles. The initiative, which will take effect in Sweden, will grant new Volvo EV owners the right to free home charging for a period of one year.

The campaign is being implemented in collaboration with the energy company Vattenfall. Thanks to the “smart charging” feature in the Volvo Cars app, vehicles will automatically charge during low-carbon and low-cost hours. An energy capacity of 5,150 kWh, equivalent to an annual distance of 25,000 km, will be provided as free charging under this campaign. Although currently valid only in Sweden, the application may spread to other European countries in the future.
Volvo views this move not just as a marketing strategy but also as part of its plan to reduce carbon emissions and ensure energy savings. Providing energy to homes with V2X-supported vehicles is also among their future plans.
